Suicide laws

Does anyone know a lot about suicide laws or know where I can find out about them, specifically for Utah? It's no longer illegal in any U.S. states according Wikipedia, but I'm also wondering if there are any laws requiring people to try to prevent it. Lastly, this website says Utah has no laws concerning assisted suicide (not physician-assisted suicide). Is this true? 😕

They never prosecute them anyway. How many failed attempts of suicide have you noticed actually get charged for attempted suicide?

Well, from what I hear, it's not illegal, so...

"Mr. Johnson, you have been found guilty of attempted suicide. I sentence you to death."
*defendant looks around confused* "..yay?"

How 'bout this: can you get someone involuntarily committed just for planning to kill themselves?

Why would you want to do that? Selfish?
Do what? Kill yourself or get someone committed?

Get someone committed. People don't owe it to you to stick around because it makes you feel better.

I don't want to get anyone committed. Trust me, I'm probably pro-suicide to an unhealthy degree.

PM the mods and ask if they can fix it. hahahahahahaha.

On the assisted suicide in Utah it is true that it is no longer a criminal offense. I'm sure suicide is the same however you can probably get someone arrested and put under watch who is threatening suicide as that is a bit different than assisted.
