I want to build my first SFF. Ive been given a Sugo 01 black case.
I'd like to overclock it. Budget is $2000. Want a high end build.

Can anyone reccomend the best core 2 duo mobo, cpu, cpu cooler, and psu combination for aircooling this SFF. (Dont want to watercool)

I dont care about graphics, i use an xbox for that.

Is overclocking this rig a bad move? Anyone had any good stable overclock results to report?

Thanks!

Motherboard: Gigabyte G33M or ASUS P5K-VM -- both of these seem to have good OCing results
CPU: Q6600 or E6750
CPU Cooler: see comments below
PSU: I would go with something modular. With a SFF, you almost certainly won't use all of the connectors on a PSU, and it's annoying to have the unused cables sitting around inside a small case.

I don't have the SG01, but I've seen pictures of it, and my sense is that the PSU is mounted directly above the CPU area. So without knowing the exact clearance available, I can only advise that you be careful about not picking too tall of a HSF.

The P5K-VM is a little better at OCing than the DS2R so I'd go with that mobo. If you want built-in RAID though however then the DS2R has that whereas the P5K-VM doesnt. For the SG01 I'd probably get the NT06-Lite cooler and like Amber said a modular psu like the Corsair HX520w or get the short cabled Silverstone 500w unit to make cable management easier.

CPU choice is dependent on how much OCing you want to do or not do. Low end a e4300 is a good choice and the e6750 and the Q6600 are good middle range choices. Although if I were to go with the Q6600 I think I'd rather use a SG03 case instead. The Q6600 CPUs run hotter than the daulcores but are excellent CPUs. The SG03 provides for better cooling I think than the SG01 and many people choose it when using a Q6600.

You can find more info on this type of setup over at the HardForum. Just look in their SFF section.
