hello,
I am from India. I want to assemble a PC which can play most of the present games.
my budget was 43K INR extendable upto 45K max
form which following parts i have already decided :-

Philips 21.5 inch LED - 222EL2SB/00 Monitor______________________7700
WD Caviar Blue 500 GB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD5000AAKX)___3334
Transcend DDR3-1333 DDR3 2x4 GB PC RAM (JM1333KLN-4G)________1980
HP dvd1260i Internal Optical Drive______________________________1288
Cooler Master Elite 310 Cabinet (Blue)___________________________2016
Cooler Master Extreme II 625 Watts PSU_________________________4468
Zebronics ZEB-SW7000R______________________________________3350
TOTAL_____________________________________________24136

(i already have keyboard and mouse and 3TB external hard disk)

so that leaves me with 19,000 to 20,000 INR for processor, mobo and graphics card

i have no intention of over clocking of any sort either processor or graphics card.

please suggest the best combination for gaming
any suggestion about parts already selected is most welcomed
i am planning to assemble it from Delhi NCR region in january 2013

thank you

I'd opt for a WD Black and better quality brand PS.
I don't know where you're buying from, so I can't offer you any suggestions for the PS.

Hi Parik309,

I think the problem most people here will have is that we don't know how much the parts cost from where you are looking to buy them (Delhi NCR?) As such, is it ok for us to assume that the cost of the Mobo/Processor/GPU are similar where you are and at say Newegg/Amazon?

If so, you have 45,000 INR --> ~$811

At the $800 price-point, you can definitely build a pretty decent rig. However, we need to know if the cost of the parts are on-par with, e.g. Newegg or Amazon.

For example, a decent deal right now for Mobo+CPU at Newegg is:
i5 3570K + ASRock Z77 Pro4 combo $317 (17,575 INR)

But that doesn't leave much for a GPU. If you can answer my question, we can re-work your build and suggest something better to you.

WD Blue is fine, but the PSU is definitely not great.

OP, let's remove that PSU and return the budget to the available pool. That leaves you with basically Rs. 24000for the CPU, mobo, GPU, and PSU.

i3 2100 Rs. 6850
GA-B75M-D3H Rs. 4500
HIS 7770 Rs. 9500
CX430 Rs. 2689
Total: Rs. 23,539

thank you all for valuable suggestions

prices here are more than amzon, newegg. For price you can refer to flipkart.com and theitdepot.com if you have time

i saw some reviews and zeroed on core i5 2500k. Previously i said i dnt want to overclock but overclocking is so easy in this processor so it was hard to say no for it. Presently i am tending to following configuration:-

Philips 21.5 inch LED - 222EL2SB/00 Monitor......................7700
or
Acer 21.5inch LED Monitor (S221HQL)..............................8050

WD Caviar Blue 500 GB Internal Hard Drive (WD5000AAKX)....3334

Transcend DDR3-1333 DDR3 2x4 GB RAM (JM1333KLN-4G)....1980

HP dvd1260i Internal Optical Drive....................................1288
or

Sony 24X High Speed DVD Writer (DRU-880S).....................1255

Cooler Master Elite 310 Cabinet (Blue)...............................1810
or
Antec NSK 4480B Computer Cabinet W-O PSU.....................1500

Cooler Master Extreme II 625 Watts PSU............................4225

Zebronics ZEB-SW7000R................................................3350

Intel 3.3 GHz LGA 1155 Core i5-2500K Processor................13375

MSI Z77A-G41 32GB DDR3 Intel Motherboard......................7750
or
ASRock Z77 Pro 3 Motherboard........................................7655

for above configuration if min price components are added total would be around 41000. now i want a suggestion on graphics card for which following points may be considered

1. above prices are of online stores in india so it can be assumed that in local market i can save around 2% on above parts.

2. i want graphics card only to play games. I think for videos and rest things onboard graphics itself is enough because right now i have Dell Inspiron 1525 core 2 duo 3.0 GHz and it doesn't have any graphics card still i never felt any problem in playing BR rips of 1080 of sizes more than 5 GB also.

3. support for multiple displays is also unnecessary.

these parts i have selected on the basis of min prices except processor. it might be that these are not very good or for a little more i can get quite better parts so keeping this in view suggestions for all or any part is needed and for that i can stretch my budget upto 48k to 50k INR but thats my final limit.

and yes a UPS too is required if possible ;)

not a chance here i5 3570K itself is around 16000 INR

You're wasting everybody's time coming in here with a budget that isn't your best and final because we put a lot of thought and effort into getting the best build possible on your budget.

What is your real budget? Let me know that and I will put together a build from scratch that will blow what you have out of the water in terms of quality and performance. At your budget and given that this is a gaming rig, you are spending way too much on the CPU and not enough on the GPU.

and yes a UPS too is required if possible ;)

Not gonna happen.

thats too rude in my opinion. i am not the first person on this earth to get confused and i thought of putting some more money only because i like the reviews about the processor. I am thankful for efforts that you all are putting for me and its not my intention to waste anybody's time.

48k - 50k is my final budget and as far as possible i would like to keep the same processor.

We prefer to have you have a rock solid budget, not "I can add more if its good".

That is what he means.

You're missing the very important point being made about processor & graphics card pairings.

To wit, for your gaming, a system with an i5 and a lesser GPU like the 7770 is not going to be better than a system with an i3 and a more powerful 7850.

7850 is twice as fast as 7750. It'd be suicidal in terms of bang for buck to get a 7750 for a 50000 Rs gaming rig. Overall I really like what mfenn put together for you, that'll get you decent 1080p gaming performance. It will play any game released to date at a solid framerate, but you will have to keep to medium settings in the most demanding titles.

Well, I don't know much about speakers, but I googled for the set you mentioned, and it looked like huge overkill.

If you're only getting a Sandy Bridge processor, you can drop all the way down to an h61 mobo, Rs. 3050, and then go look for speakers that fit your budget.
