Suggestions to keep my couch cushion in place

I have had a new couch for a few months now which has one solid cushion to sit on (looks like 3). After sitting down and getting up a couple of times, the cushion will start to slide off the couch. I have tried velcro to hold it in place with little success, so have mostly ignored it for the past month or so. Its starting to bother me again, so I thought I would bring the issue to AT. Has anyone ever had this problem and solved it? Got any creative (yet cheap) ways of possibly solving this problem?

It is a leather sleeper sofa. The underside of the cushion is fabric.

See the above posts for some acceptable solutions. Perhaps you need MORE velcro than you currently have.

The rubber mat might work.

The velcro will work for awhile, but tends to stretch the material on the underside of the cushion. That is why the cushion starts to slide again.

Hopefully the 300lbs will be a work in progress that I never complete. Thanks for the useful suggestion though :p

Use that spongy rubber liner that they sell to line your kitchen shelves. I had a mattress that wouldn't stop slipping off the box spring, and the liner took care of it.

What you need to do is make some loops out of some material and sew them onto the back of the cushion with heavy thread. Then maybe look into threading some elastic cord through the loops to hold the cushion on. that would do the trick, but take a little work...

Is this available at a Home Depot?

I have considered this as an option before. I'm afraid my sewing skills would cause more harm then good though.

Depending on the make of the couch, you may be able to thread the restraining method between the bottom framing and backing (make a slit if needed).
Turn the couch over, remove the cloth backing on the underside and attach your restraints.

As Scarpozzi stated, you will have about 30 minutes of work to prep the cushion. Attachment to the anchor points can take between 1 & 2 hours

Probably. I've seen it at Wal-Mart and Lowes, so I imagine HD carries it as well.
