Suggestions on trading my lens?

I just bought the 5D II with a 24-105mm F/4 L IS lens

Wondering if I can bump up IQ and maybe get 2 lenses without coming out of pocket. Wanna hear anyones ideas. I'm shooting mostly family portrait type stuff.

I do not believe you can upgrade w/o money out of pocket. If you want to add a few hundred dollars you can get the 24-70 2.8L which is faster, has less distortion, and a zoom range that more people seem to like for a mid-range zoom on FF.

That being said, the 24-105 is supposed to be AUsome.

Don't do it. Odds are you'll end up buying it back for more money. It's a very useful lens, and hard to replace adequately in this day of mostly crop format cameras.

If you're having issues with your lens, try testing and setting the micro focus and looking at other aspects of your photography.

I bought a 5d II and this lens for $2043 total. So, I just about got this lens for free. Just seeing if I can get more for it's value. But, if not, I will hold on to it.

Been a member there for years. Been doing research there too. Haven't decided yet.

For anyone else, that is a great site to learn. And to buy/sell. I've bought/sold many lenses and a 40D there in the past.

Meh. Think I'm gonna try to trade it for 2 primes. Canon 100mm F/2.0 & 30/50mm sigma/canon f/1.4

I've been sick since I got the camera and I just don't trust F/4.0 indoors. I've had a Sigma 30mm F/1.4 in the past on my XT. And it was great in low light. I hate to do it like ya'll said, but I need something faster now. I may even try some MF lenses that are under $300 but have extremely awesome image quality. Anyone looked into Rokino 85mm or 35mm? I'm seeing some great results online with them.
