Suggestions on setting up subwoofer?

BD2003

Just got my Sony SAW-M40.

Sounds very very nice.

Right now I have it under my desk pointed at the drawers. I'd like to get it a little tighter.

Also, what would be optimal setting for the Frequency crossover and Volume level? I'd like a bit of a thump, but nothing too muddy. My main speakers are paradigm titans, set up as small under my reciever. I couldnt get the sub to work if I set them to large.

Unfortunately, I cant manually set the reciever crossover...

Personally, the best way I've found to get the most desirable response from my sub was not position, but the tuning knob on the sub. Adjust the frequency range while playing music until you get a sound you like. Also, for tightest bass, use a high quality cable if you aren't already. I made a pretty decent cable for a long run using a piece of coaxial cable with coax -> rca adapters on each end.
