Hello all. Been lurking for a while, and I'm going to be building a new desktop, so looking for some recommendations/comments before I start. Here's a list of parts I was considering using, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Build:

Case: Cooler Master Haf 922
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-197-_-Product

PSU: Seasonic X650
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151088

Processor: Core i7 950
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0346210

Mobo: Asus Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131665

RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12gb DDR3 (3 x 4gb)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820226096

GPU (buying this part last, so may not be this exact card): GTX 465 (or higher)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130555

DVD Drive x2: ASUS 24x dvd rw drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135204

HD: Recommendation please

Solid State: Recommendation please

Edit x2: Sorry to below poster(s) for leaving out info:

Budget $1200ish, don't need a monitor/keyboard/mouse
Buying the parts in the US
Using it for gaming, but not going to overclock anything.
Going to build it asap. Getting the processor early next week from MC. Going to China in Jan for 3 weeks though, so that's why I'm planning on buying the gpu last if you think I could find a better deal by then.

I hope I haven't left anything crucial out, and if I have, I apologize.

Welcome to the forums. Just a request...

It'd be helpful if you list the name of the items too, instead of just the link. That'd save us the trouble of clicking each link to see what you plan to buy. Most everyone here is pretty savvy to the most common hardware items and what they "should" cost.

save some money and buy only 6Gb ram, unless you're into some heavy image/3D rendering. You might also want to consider a i5-760 + p55 mboard or i7-870 (has higher turbo frequency than the 950), to save money and get ~same performance

Hmmm, I'm having flashbacks to the bad build example thread. A GTX 465 is a $1200 build is just sad. :(

Here's something a lot better for gaming:
i5 760 + GA-P55-USB3 + DF-10 combo $370 - 1366 is a waste of money for gaming
G.Skill DDR3 1333 4GB $46 - 12GB is not necessary, with this you can easily go to 8GB when it is required
GTX 570 $350
Corsair Force 60GB $116 AR - Sandforce, cheap AR
Samsung F3 1TB + Earthwatts 650W combo $125 - X650 is nice, but too expensive
Samsung DVD Burner $18 - I think that I can count the number of times that I've wanted to make a disc-to-disc copy on one hand
Total: $1025 AR

If you really want to spend $1200, get a GTX 580.
