i bought a couple of Cooling Racks

bought a pound of center cut thick bacon

1. put bacon on cooling racks. put racks on pan made of tin foil and put into the oven.
2. bake at 400 degrees for 13min.
3. turn off heat, and let it sit in oven for 10min.

came out crispy, but still kinda greasy. less greasy than frying, but am surprised on the amount of grease gets soaked up by a paper towel.

suggestions on less greasy bacon in the oven?

edit:
Thx KLin on formating suggestion

edit2:
bought Costco center cut bacon.

it's surprisingly low grease. it has like 1/10 the grease of the thick sliced bacon :Q

I prefer 450. cooling rack on a baking sheet.

Pull out when done to your liking. Different thicknesses take different times and people have all kinds of bacon preferences.

I have yet to come across bacon that tastes any better than if it were fried in a pan full of its own grease.

Exactly. Thats the whole damned point of bacon! THE GREASE!!!!

On that note I cook it all on the grill. Toss baking sheet on grill covered in foil. Lay down smokey bacon... let that crap sizzle in its own juices for 10 mins or so and our golden.

Does it really matter how you cook bacon? I've done pan-frying, oven and microwave. They all yield same crispy goodness results.

That being said, take the easiest route and throw some bacon in the microwave with the top covered with a paper towel.

Why waste time and electricity cooking bacon in the oven? Just lay some paper towels down on a plate, lay bacon down, cover with more paper towels, and microwave until done to desired crispiness.

Bacon CandyPrep: 5 mins Cook: 30 mins Ready in: 35 mins

Ingredients
1 lb Bacon (not thick-cut)
1/4 cup Brown sugar
Cooking Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Slice bacon into 1/2 inch strips and dredge in brown sugar until thoroughly coated.

Crumple aluminum foil to allow for grease drainage and place it on a baking sheet. Lay out the bacon on this making sure not to overlap pieces.

Bake until crispy. Allow to cool and harden before serving.

bought another brand of thick sliced bacon at the supermarket.

still greasier than costco regular bacon.

need to find costco thick slicked bacon.

btw-
dont noticed that much texture diff between regular bacon and thick slicked.

(regular = 1oz strips, thick sliced = 1 1/3 oz strips)
