Hello everyone,
Right now I have a Gigabyte 7VRXP rev 2.0 motherboard. I had the board about a year, and yesterday it kicked the bucket. I have already sent it back once (right after I got it), but this last one I had much success with. Now here is my question.
I can RMA the board. But I plan in simply EBaying it when I get the replacement.
So right now I am in the shopping for a new board. Currently my system has an Athlon XP 2100 processor (266 fsb i believe), 512 of corsair pc2700 memory, a 80gb 8mb cache WD harddrive, and all the other components are relatively simple.
Anyway, I want to know what everyone thinks I should buy. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, because I'd rather save my money and buy a new rig later if I'm going to spend. But I want a stable board that performs well. What chipset should I go with? Kt333, kt400, nforce?
I won't be over clocking. I really just want a good solid, stable board that runs well that won't break on me. And I want it to be relatively cheap.
So... what are my best options? If possible, I wouldn't mind a range of boards given price. I've been kind of out of the computer loop for a while, so I'm at a loss as to the new technology...
Thanks,
Erik
