Suggestions on best TV tuner card?

I'm thinking about purchasing a tuner card for my comp, and was looking for recommendations. What would you guys recommend? I'm not looking for any particular features, just the best.

That makes it hard to answer. There are many tv cards out there, just like vehicles. Some are trucks, some are cars, some are SUVs. The "best" can be defined as anything, depending on your needs.

Try dvdrhelp.com. They have a section on tv cards. Also, tv-cards.com.

How about the Leadtek 2000 XP? $53 at Newegg....

Great card, nice clean image. I heard the Asus TV Tuner card is better though but I still like my Leadtek

I've used a few 8-bit BT8x8 based cards (like the Leadtek 2000XP deluxe), a Cognexant CX 10-bit based (Asus TV880), and a Philips SA 9-bit based (flyvideo 3000fm). The Philips and Cognexant based cards are definitely better than the Brooktree BT8x8 based ones in terms of picture quality, no 2 ways about it.

I concur. Brooktree BT-8x8 = old school = suck in tech world.

If you got digital cable the WinTV D or WinTV HD both are expensive though. Otherwise the other Hauppauge cards are very good
