Got a package today from my friend in another state. Was a Valentine + Chinese New Years gift. Kind of out of the blue and box was filled with a lot of things. Whether or not there was any other intention in the gifts besides friendship, I also want to send her something back as a thank you. But I also do not want to send something that might give off the wrong vibe. My purpose is to only say thank you for the gift and being a friend. Maybe something really materialistic ??

Is it white roses that mean friendship? Don't know how much you're looking to spend, but if you send something that MEANS friendship, that might do the trick. :)

A postcard that says something to the effect of "appreciation for your true friendship" or something like that should do, simple yet effective.

In the immortal words of some dot-com commercial a while back, "so she wants to play hardball... send her a fruit basket".

<< I think yellow roses means friendship. >>

Hoeboy - Definitely do the research and make sure what the rose color means if you go that route... :p

Rose Color Meanings

Looks like Yellow, it is. Don't need to complicate matters by sending the wrong color. :p

Chinese girls like gold and money. Money is more impersonal since you don't have to think much. Money is given out on Chinese New Year also, so it would work well I think.

Other impersonal gifts girls like are perfume, flowers, clothes (risky in choosing the right size), CDs, and videos.

Soda? That's for weak people! J/K again!

But damn, a soda cannot keep me up EVER. Not even taking 2 Xenadrine's will keep me up. Nothing can. I'm so immune to caffeine, it isn't funny.

G'nite

BTW, I did leave something useful. I said to send the person a card with a little note stating how they felt. Not too harsh, but just something letting them know that they only would like to be friends.

do NOT GIVE HER ROSES OF ANY COLOR.

girls see roses and think ROSES. doesn't matter the color. that would send off the wrong vibes big time, IMO.

i would avoid roses, flowers, stuff that you'd give a girlfriend on Valentines day.

Yes, but if I also give her sister some then that would say "you're not THAT special!"

LOL... so many messages. The first point may have been right, the girl may just see roses and think roses. I have seen cards that come with roses that actually explain the meanings of each color, so if you still decide to go with that, you may want to look into it.
