Suggestions on a new cooler for Radeon 9700 Pro?

Any of you guys have any suggestions on new heatsink/fan? or heatpipe coolers for a stock ATI Radeon 9700 Pro?

I was thinking about a Thermaltake Giant III... Seems overkill just to keep my card cool without any OC'ing or maybe some slight OC'ing. I'd just like to fix my problem that i've explained in my previous thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=27&threadid=1289068&STARTPAGE=1&zb=875744

If i had another $200 - $500 laying around i'd go straight for watercooling. but i don't have the money. I blew almost all my spare cash on my new system.

Thanks all.

Ofcourse a TT Giant III is a Beast cooler but it does not come cheap.

The zalman Hp-80C ( With Fan ) will cost you the same or a few $$ extra the the TT III, i own one and it really cools even under Max OC of my Ti 4200, from 250 Mhz, the Zalman can afford an OC of 305 + Mhz.

Any how, the Arctiv VGA silencer is the best bang for the Buck, its also relatively easy to equip.

Its up to you, But WAIT I REMEMBER, THE GIANT III HAS 8 X COPPER RAM SINKS AS WELL, So If you can afford 33 $, Go for the Giant III and benifit from the Copper Ram sinks.

Its widely accepted that the VGA Silencer is the best radeon cooler short of water or peltiers.
The Zalman is pretty crap, ive got one that was on my 9700 for all of a week. Its only good for keeping it quiet, which luckly for it, is what its designed for.
The Giant 2 & 3 are are like the Zalman, but are obnoxiously loud and not that good for the price. A friend has both.

The VGA Silencers, all revisions, are cheap, easy to fit, look snazzy, are quiet even in loud mode, and cool very very well.

Very easy. A lot easier than the Zalman anyway.

It is very easy from what I have heard. I belive there ar instructions on the website as well as in the box.

1) remove stock cooler and unscrew the screws around the outputs to remove the blanking plate.
2) install a piece of metal that directs the airflow out around the outputs.
3) put new blanking plate on and put the screws for the outputs back on.
4) attach power connector to the fan header on the card.
5) put cooler on card then flip card over and place support bracket on, then tighten the support bracket screws.
6) Done.

Thanks guys. i'll look more into it. i was just considering the Giant III cause of the 8 extra ramsink's...

To buy like 2 pack's of 4 of TweakMonster sinks's and then another cooler add's up.

Are you really OCing your card far enough to need ram sinks? You really only need them if you do a voltage mod. Mosty of the time they don't do much other than look pretty any ways.

its quite a bit easier than the zalman

A friend of mine has the Zalmon and he spent...around 45-60 minutes installing it. If I were you, I would totally get the Artic VGA Silencer.
