Suggestions on a good Laser Printer?!?

I'm in the market for a good laser printer, preferably one that prints in color, that can print on think, high quality paper. The main purpose of this book is to print a booklet of recipes to distribute. We really want a decent printer that can not only handle think paper but also produce great quality pictures that are b/w, and if possible color.

I'm not interested in spending 5-10K for a printer, but I do put a higher emphasis on smaller long-term cost versus smaller sunk cost. I'm a big fan of Canon printers, mainly because I've had awful experiences with deskjet HPs and Epsons. I am open to any good quality printer, with good featuers, reasonable long-term cost, and long-lasting (if there is such a thing in technology). thanks

I used to have a Okidate 4w laster printer that worked well and the text was very crisp. In fact, it would still be working today if I hadn't broke the rear paper tray. 🙁

I wanted to use the l-printer to create "how-to" booklets to sell. I'm really thinking hardly on the Okidata 7300dxn, it looks like an awsome printer. Even though its 2k, the long-term cost seem to be less expensive. 18cent a page for 3/4's of color is not that bad, to my knowledge. The purchase will not be made until late summer or early fall; hopefully prices will drop a bit by then.

Whatever you do, stay away from HP's laser printers. We have a few at work, and let's just say we usually have problems with them sending a bunch of blank pages through the printer for no apparent reason.

I like Brother laser printers. They work very well, the toner lasts a long time, and they look good. Oh yeah, prices are low too!
