corsair 750watt psu
xfx ati 4890XT 1gb stock
asus p5k-e mobo

i oced to 3.72 and inside bios i upped the voltage to 1.45v
the ram i left on auto
i can boot into windows and do stuff
but i failed prime 95 within 6 min
i also have a corsair liquid cooler for my cpu , my cpu at stock doesnt run higer then 32C
any suggestions on what i have to do , and what i can do to hit 3.9-4.0ghz

Loosen memory timings to 5-5-5-15, lower the memory multiplier so you run it at 600-700mhz. That should ensure the memory is not causing the failures. Then bump the CPU vcore up one more notch. You can probably hit 3.9ghz. Keep an eye on your temps. 55C under load is the highest I ever go. Some people say 60C but that's pushing it IMO.

Your northbridge might be failing at this speed. Lower the CPU multiplier to something like 6 and see if it still fails Prime95 testing. If so, you might need to increase the northbridge voltage.

I wouldn't push the recommended voltages specs of the chip. Always stress the board first like find out what your subsystem needs at first to run high fsb to rule that out. I usually run the highest ram specs at 1:1 and run the lowest multi on the ship and see what the NB needs just to get an idea. It's an idea not an exact number but it should help. First test with memtest x.xx and rule out your ram and like I said run it at its max @ 1:1 If you need more that the ram offers like for e.g. 450fsb with DDR2 800, loosen the timings as suggested before and re-run the max 1:1 memtest...
