Recently, I started a food blog to share recipes and reviews of restaurants. In order to increase traffic I was planning on handing out business cards (leaving them at the restaurant when we payed our bill) informing the staff that they had just been visited by our reviewers. However, I am stuck on what slogan to through on the business card. So far I've come up with:

Did you make the cut?
How did you measure up?

A little background information. The site currently has 100+ local followers, but I would like to expand that.

Any ideas?

In that situation you don't need anything clever or slogan-y. You aren't trying to generate interest from a disinterested party. Odds are very high the restaurant management will want to read the review no matter what you said on the card.

I would say "Please visit us at giantpiehole.com to read our review of your restaurant."

Also, I would mail the card to the restaurant rather than drop it off when you pay. If the waitperson sucked or they know you weren't thrilled with everything, they are going to make sure nobody sees that card. Better to make sure it gets into the hands of a manager. Mailing it will make a bigger impact. Also, less chance it will get set aside by a busy cashier or waitperson.

kranky has a good point, but if you are also trying to get others beyond the staff to notice, then maybe something short, centered, in red and a larger font like:

Review/You

It's "punchy" enough to demand initial notice, and sufficiently obscure enough that anyone who might be remotely interested will read further to see what you mean.

And the "you" above covers both the reviewed (staff and owners) and the reviewer (any patron who might wish to contribute and become one of your reviewers.)

What you put in "regular" black type under this is a short, dynamic description of your incredibly hip, game-changing review site! :p
