suggestions for XP1800+ & GB GA7VAXP m/b

I've ordered an athlon xp1800+ and a Gigabyte GA7VAXP motherboard to upgrade my PC for video editing. I've also got some DDR2700 memory on order.

Anybody got the same or similar and have any suggestions as to how I can tweak it to make it faster. I'm not looking for "on the edge of being stable" fast but something closer to xp2000+ performance would be nice. Step by step guide as to what to change in the BIOS or which jumpers to swap would be nice as I'm new to it. I'll know ore once I read the manual but I'm trying to start now.

I just recently bought that board, but you might have been better off grabbing a 1600+ AGOIA, etc.. I run mine at 1750MHz (166MHzX10.5) no problem. I haven't tried any higher, because I like the 1/5 divider and teh 33/66MHz PCI/AGP speeds. Read my post over on amdmb gigabyte forums about how to do HALT and STPGNT on the KT400. with that tweak my 1.75GHz Athlon runs mid 20s idle!

btw, I bought Corsair PC3200 XMS CL2. unfortunatley I can't run it with anything faster than standard timings. If I had time to unlock my CPU I'd see how high it can go in MHz but others have done it and it should go ~212Mhz think

Good luck!

What is this AGOIA people keep talking about? I did a search on google but it just came up with lots of people saying how good they are but noone saying what they are, what they do or where you can get them from.
Can I use one with my XP 1800+?

OK So I think I've worked out what AGIOA is, its something to do with the build of the processor. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this next bit: I think that everyone is saying use 1600 AGIOA to overclock because it has a lower mulitplier so you can overclock using FSB only without having to unlock the CPU. Also higher spec processors (eg 1800+) have a higher multiplier and so you can't increase the FSB as much without the processor becoming unstable. Is that the case?

Please let me know.

My 1800+ is an AGIOA chip. How much should I be able to get the FSB up to (GB 7VAXP and PC2700 memory)??? I'm not worried about mega performance but had to drop my processor from the 2000+ I wanted to an 1800+ so I could get an extra 256MB of memory. Should I be able to increase the FSB to get back closer to 2000+ performance?
