My school has a Starbucks, and today I decided to try a cappuccino. It tasted terrible. All I can think of is "burnt water".
Do people really drink this stuff? Is there another kind I should try?
I'm a newb.
Sounds like the Starbucks at your school is staffed by tards if they can't properly make a cappuccino. My school has a Starbucks, and today I decided to try a cappuccino. It tasted terrible. All I can think of is "burnt water".

Drink good coffee. I had been drinking milk/sugar coffee until a friend had me try some of the coffee he brewed. WOW! I will never go back to milk and sugar unless the coffee sucks.
I typically drink either Peet's or Alpen Sierra. Check out West Coast Roasting. Nate roasts some awesome beans!

Really? Starbucks uses way too much milk in their lattes and cappuccinos. Their regular coffee tastes burnt, but not their espresso drinks. You sound like a nancyboy.
Its only bitter if its burnt, either by the roaster or by sitting on the warmer too long.Been drinking all kinds of coffee for years and I can't stand black coffee.
It's just too bitter.

Fact, coffee sitting on a warmer will burn in under 10 minutes.

Start with a mocha frap. It's like 99% Frosty and 1% coffee. Work your way up from there.![]()
If you want something tasty, you should go with a Hazelnut or Vanilla flavored Iced Coffee with skim milk and sugar.
Even fatter sweeter and tastier are Iced Lattes.
I think this is actually correct. There were two guys running the store, and they both seemed pretty dumb. One of them traded positions for the cash register, and he told the other guy, "You know how to make drinks, right?"
The dude sounded oblivious. "Uhh. Yeah. I totally can!" and then walked over to the machine and dropped a tray or something, it was pretty loud. Meanwhile, the cashier was like, "Crap, how do I ring up one of those sticky rolls? I don't have the sheet thing..."
Okay, awesome. This is the kind of response I was looking for.
Note taken. Thanks.
I don't plan on buying a coffee machine anytime soon, let alone actually drinking coffee on a regular basis. But thought I'd like to try. I like the "concept" of coffee but admittedly I've never really took the opportunity to adapt to the taste. I'll hold off on these drinks that are more advanced, as you say, and try something sweeter.
