I did a search but did not find what i was looking for. I've got a soyo 6ba+IV and want to run a cel2 600 up to 900. Can you please suggest what slotket (i've heard the ms-6905 is great) and hsf to use? i do not want to block any memory slots or what not. any and all advice much appreciated.

i have the abit one and its just fine, try the retail one first, see how far you can get with that. other heatsinks will usually only get you stable or boot into windows rather than let you hit something you couldn't even post in.

Onvia still has the MSI 6905Master available for $11.41 with free shipping Here.

There's a good selection of coolers at Overclock Warehouse The Globalwin FOP32 is popular, as are the Orb's at 3dCool. I'm using an older Globalwin on an MSI 6905Master and running my 600 celery at 900 stable at 1.7v.

Good luck!

MSI slocket is the best I believe.I had my c600@900 on Iwill slocket2.
It needed 1.85V to run stable. With MSI 6905 it runs at 1.80V .
GORB is enough for cooling, but it gets somewhat hot after hours of Q3A.
Consider better HSF (PEP66) just in case .

i should have asked this question before i guess, but i've never used a slotket adapter before and i guess one of my real questions is does the hsf still attach to the cpu in the normal manner? i want to use an fcpga or ppga celeron cpu in the slotket, will a regular hsf set up work?

u need fcpga heatsink to work on slockets, or some slot 1 heatsinks might work on it with little work. mine 633@950 is running happy with no name slocket with 1.75V and stock intel heatsink it came with. good luck.

StrangeRanger:

I'm using an Abit Slotket III with Globalwin FKP32 on a Cco Celeron 600@900. Worked fine with stock heat sink, just wanted a little longevity insurance. Using stock voltage of 1.7, fsb at 100mhz. The Globalwin brought temps after load down just over 20 degrees Fahrenheit according to temp indicator in bios (I know, not very accurate). Can't up the fsb on this Gigabyte 686BX, would try it if possible. Never any stability issues!:)
