Suggestions for replacing Cisco Aironet equipment....

The setup I have is a Cisco Aironet 350 Wireless Access Point in one building. A Cisco 350 Aironet Wireless Bridge in another building, about 100 feet apart. Then from the bridge to a wired router about another 100 feet.

Problem is this is the second Access Point that has failed. Each last 18-24 months. I want to try something else (cheaper).

Looking at Linksys (I know made by Cisco). My question is would 2 of the WAP54G Access Points do the job? Or would a WAP54G AP and say a WET54G Bridge be better ?

Or is there another brand I should be looking at ?

For the record, the second device is a workgroup bridge, not an AP.

Yeah, two AP's in bridge mode will work fine or an AP in AP mode and the other in "Client" mode or one AP and the WET54. Lots of combo's will work. They are not going to be 100mW like the Cisco gear is though. Radio's receive sensitiviy won't be as good either. Short story is, if the Cisco Link is very strong, as in 0-2% retries, with good SNR, then the Linksys solution will probably work fine. If your existing link isn't solid then the cheaper radios and power output of the Linksys isn't going to cut it without some massaging.

dumb question, but is there lighting arrestor on the antenna?

If this is indoors then never mind.

I should have said, "I have had 2 of the AP's fail, no problem with the bridges".

All the units have been mounted indoors. The orginial AP had an external antenna, but I believe it got moisture somewhere in the lead and corroded.
