Suggestions for quiet 80/120MM fans

I need some suggestions for quiet (yet good performing) fans to swap out for the stock ones in a Raidmax X1. I'm looking at the Arctic Cooling Variable speed ones, as well as some from Antec and Thermaltake. What do you guys suggest?

Btw a blue LED fan would be nice, b/c the stock ones are blue and they look nice

I like the Arctic Cooling exhaust-only open back designs; I think they give superior flow / noise, although they hum too much to be a challenge for the likes of Nexus at the very quiet /low flow end. I'm not so fond of the other AC's. I also can't comment on TC experience -- it could be good in theory, but not so good in practice. However, you can always take control over this by shorting out the TC, so TC is not a disadvantage, and may be an advantage.

I haven't tried the Cooler Masters yet, so don't claim that the open back AC's are better than them.

I just bought a silverstone FM121, works great so far. almost silent @ idle, and leafblower-like at full speed (110cfm)

i bought the AC PRO2L that you are talking about, at the medium setting it's very quiet and will lower your case temps by up to 5 degrees. at high the case was so cool that it was unneeded, so i lowered it. i didn't buy it yet, but the akasa 120mm amber fan is great and looks better than the black fan for the window.

i have the Raidmax X1 too

I like the Coolermaster purple LED fans I got from ncix.com and I put them in a Coolermaster Centurion 5 case with side window and blue trim that I got from cancomputer.com (of course I gave away the power supply and might buy a Fortron or Seasonic).

It`s really teh cool. 😀
