Suggestions for new Cingular phone/ Does anybody have a LG CU500?

Leros

Lifer
My Razr died, so I need to get a new phone from Cingular. I'm not eligible for an upgrade, so I'm paying full retail price. 🙁

I went to the store today and there were three ultra-thin phones in stock:
Razr V3 - $330
Samsung SGH-c417 -$200
LG CU500 - $250

I got the Samsung and after getting home and playing with it, I don't really like it.

Pros:
small, pretty, lightweight

Cons:
crappy interface
text message auto dictionary only predicts one word (you can't choose between options)
ugly skins and no way to purchase new skins

The LG CU500 seems to be my only other option. Does anybody have experience with these? From what I can tell, the UI looks pretty good. The numerical buttons seem kind of odd, are those annoying?

What I want in a phone:
easy to fit in pocket - thin
easy to use (easy to txt msg, easy to retreive voicemail, easy to add/remove from phonebook)

Why would you buy a phone from the Cingular store?

So I can physically get my hands on it and see if I like it. Plus, my parents are generously paying for it and they would be uncomfortable buying it from anywhere else.

Where would you suggest?

Ebay, sounds like your parents might be scared of ebay though. Just go get reemed at the store.

I would go with the LG out of the 2 because of looks. It also looks like a twin to the razr.

I'm more concerned about usability than I am about looks.

I'm not sure how Cingular prices things, but the "Retail" prices at the Verizon store were actually lower than the "discounted" prices online. It was actually cheaper to buy through Verizon direct after the corporate discount that I get.

I was looking at phones on Ebay and after shipping prices it was more expensive than instore purchases.

I don't know, I had my buddy look up the price for the Q for me. He looked up several discount options, one of which was a corporate account if you had 10,000 lines or more. It was the same price that was sitting in front of me at the store.

This might change with different phones, but I wasn't impressed.

Sony Ericsson W810i - $266 @ puremobile.com Comes with a 1GB MSPD also, I just got mine last week. I  this phone.

EDIT: Didn't notice you already bought one. 😛

Hmm... I just read the LG CU500 manual. Seems to be almost identical the RAZR. At least the features I care about.
