So this is what I'm plaining for my new rig:

CPU: Intel Q6600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115017
Motherboard: eVGA 680i 122-CK-NF68-A1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813188013
GPU: eVGA 8800 GTX 768-P2-N831-AR http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130072
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) BL2KIT12864AA804
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820146565
PSU: Corsair 620HX http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817139002
Heatsink: Tuniq Tower 120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835154001

What do you guys think, any suggestions? The only thing I kept on going back and forth on was the PSU, I was deciding between the Corsair 620HX and the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad. I was going to get the PCP&C, but after reading so much more reviews on the Corsair it had me convinced that it was the right one for me. Also the only other thing I had a question about was with the Tuniq Tower, will fit with my motherboard and cpu cause after reading some reviews, I'm quite unsure. Let me know any of your suggestions. Thanks for the advice in advanced.

There's absolutely no reason with yours to go with the PCP&C PSU whatsoever.

Do you intend on going SLI at some point? If not, a P35 board might be better (and cheaper).

Yes I will most likly go SLI in the future, not right away, but I do plan on doing it. Any other suggestions?

Don't bother. Buying an SLI motherboard for future-proofing is never a good idea. "Down the road" their will be better cards out that would perform better than both of those cards in SLI, but for much less.

The only real time you should consider SLI is if you have buy the very best right now. Besides that, it's a waste. Even in that case I think it's a waste, but I guess I'm just not the type to spend over a grand on just video cards...

Yeah, I agree. SLI, to me, hasn't panned out as expected. Putting two mid-range or cheap cards in SLI doesn't match the performance of decent single cards that don't really cost much money. And putting two great cards in SLI never seems to be worth the price at ALL since top of the line cards perform so well.

Also, if you sell your 8800GTX when you want a new card, then all you have to pay is the difference which shouldn't be that much. If you buy a second 800GTX, you'd end up spending a whole lot more and probably wouldn't get better performance than a newer single card. Unless you really want the best right now and can spend over a grand for it, don't bother.

Ok, I understand your gripes about SLI and I'm not saying its perfect, but overall what do you guys think about my build? My main concern is the PSU and the heatsink.

Both the PSU and the heatsink are top choices, well liked by the folks in this forum

They're great and strong choices, but the PSU is probably overkill and you could get away with a cheaper but solid PSU, like a Corsair 620hx. Unless you're planning on running 10 hard drives or some such the rig you have listed won't really pull anything over 350w max at stock under full load. I know you're planning on overclocking, but overclocking doesn't put THAT much more of a load on the PSU...

Well I'm still plaining on getting the 620HX unless someone can really convice my otherwise. Has anyone heard of any issue with the heatsink not fitting on a eVGA 680i A1 motherboard with a Q6600. Also, the case that I have is a APEVIA X-Pider here's a link to what it looks like, except mines in green: http://www.apevia.com/product.php?pid=196

I think you will be find as long as you have no bulky components or fans on the window over the area of your cpu.

I just read that with the Tuniq Tower its back plate has a sticker on it and if you ever have to take it off, it?s a pain in the ass. What is the purpose of the sticker if you?re screwing the heatsink in anyways? Also would it be ok if I just left the seal on the sticker so it wouldn't stick to my motherboard, would this cause any heat issue or melting, cause I don't now what the seal is made of my guess is plastic.

I'd take the sticker off, no sense in taking any chances. I wouldn't worry about it getting stuck to your mobo, heat tends to take care of most types of glue quite easily.

Size it up before you apply it, that way you wont be surprised. You can also use different solutions or get the backplate and HSF in place without it. Have a friend help you hold it till its screwed into place
