I'm gonna put together a new system and would like some recommendations on which motherboard to get. How is the ECS K7vta3? I like those deals at Fry's when they offer the AMD 2200+ & K7vta3 combos for dirt cheap. Since I haven't researched mobo's lately I was just wondering which of the current boards are reliable, reasonably priced, and of course ^:clock:able. I'm looking to spend under $200 for an XP 2200 or 2400 and a mobo. Suggestions?

Fry's are supplying the latest revision K7VTA3 (v8.0), nothing wrong with that. You need to know it's a no-nonsense board, no overclocking toys, just the basics in I/O.

Reliable and overclocking shouldn't really be said in the same sentence. Make up your mind which one you want.

I've sold several of the K7VTA3s, and have had no problems with them. I even have one here in-house, and it works just fine. No frills, that's to be expected, but otherwise a solid performer.

Leaning more towards reliability and long term quality as the important factors in making my decision. I take it from the replies that the K7vta3 is just that. Any other recommendations?
