I'm upgrading my family's computer. Currently running a 667 celeron on a board that only supports up to 533 - it's detecting it as a Pentium III... lousy onboard video... I was going to find a better board to use with the 667 but with prices as low as they are I'm just going to get a combo with duron around 1 - 1.3 ghz.

I've seen quite a few, mostly pcchips and chaintech boards. Did find an Epox and a MSI. I actually wanted to keep it around $60 for the purchase but if it's a slightly better board than just under $100 is fine.

Requirements:

Onboard Video and Sound
would prefer AC98 capable sound, not AC97
AGP 4x accelerated preferably 32mb buffer (shared mem) or more
supports SDRAM or SDRAM/DDR (both slots)

Thanks!

AC97 is just the bus that transports the digital data. AC98 doesn't even exist. It's nothing to do with the quality of the sound solution anyway, even Audigy cards use AC97 transport.

PC-Chips is the #1 maker of all-in-one boards - there even is one that has a Duron (850) soldered to the board, these go for well under $100 including CPU, fan/heatsink, onboard VGA, sound and LAN, and an included modem card.

This is the M810CL, w/ CPU socket it's M810L. Chipset is SiS 730S. There's a faster model M841L using SiS 740 chipset, having DDR and SDR slots, but no AGP slot.

No idea, I'm in Germany. Try google. It's often referred to as M810 v7.1c or K7SEM v3.0c, same thing.
