Suggestions for Laptop, Price range 1200-1500

I'd suggest an HP Envy 14, but I'd sort of need more information on what you want with battery life, what type of games you'd play, what size and weight, etc.

I'm a student and think the Envy 14 is perfect for notetaking and light gaming. It has a good combination of performance, size, weight, build quality, and battery life.
 
Third the envy suggestion... though if you don't need battery life/portability and plan to use it as more of a desktop replacement, check out the Asus G53JW.
