Suggestions for desktop wifi adapter

Hey guys n gals.

Moved into a new house and changing my setup a bit. I normally always keep my desktop pc directly connected to my wireless router in the house, but its not lookin to be the best option anymore.

I have a Linksys WRT54GL, and i'm lookin for a wireless adapter. From all the searching i've done, it seems that most of the top-end wifi adapters with good reps are now almost all completely unreliable and spotty with Windows 7.

I've yet to find a good adapter where people werent divided 50/50 saying its awesome and sucks as much.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Think they would work well on a gaming rig? (that's the reason i've always tried to avoid going wireless)

One thing about wireless in Win7. It has to have a good connection, or you don't get a connection at all.

I've used wireless donges that in XP, would just hang on (just barely) at a 1Mbit/sec connection. Browsing was slow, but possible.

In Win7, it simply wouldn't connect at all. No browsing possible.

In that sense, I'm not certain that Win7 is a step forward, as far as wireless goes.
