Suggestions for desktop replacement laptop solutions

Hi,

I haven't bought a new laptop in years, and would dearly like a new desktop replacement. I'd love the opinions of you anandtech geniuses to sanity check my thoughts so far...

What really peaks my interest is having an SSD for fast startup and a hard drive for data, but very few official suppliers seem to stock this configuration. Have I misread the situation? Is this not a good idea?

Aside from that, I do a lot of development, and games, so I need a fairly hefty graphics card, memory and so forth...

This is a system I specced out on http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/

Chassis - :: Kobalt G170 17.3"
1
Screen - :: 17.3" 1920x1080 Full HD X-Glass LED Backlit NTSC 72%
1
Processor - :: Intel® Core i7-2630QM Quad Core with HT 2.0-2.9GHz 6MB Cache 45W (+ £93.00)
1
Video Card - :: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5, 192 CUDA Cores, DX11 & PhysX
1
Memory 1 - :: 6GB DDR3 1333Mhz CAS9 1x 2GB, 1x 4GB DIMMs (+ £30.00)
1
Hard Drive - :: 120GB Intel 510 Series (+ £155.00)
1
Hard Drive 2 - :: 750GB Western Digital 7,200pm with 16MB Cache (+ £81.00)

It comes out at £1,316.50, not including VAT. Does this sound right? Do the components look ok?

Many thanks in advance!

For a solid desktop replacement, I would look at the forthcoming Lenovo W520 tricked out as above with a Ultrabay III adapter for HDD #2.
