Suggestions for decent UPS under 50.00?

I would definatly pass on that UPS as it is very underpowered. Especially is you wish to run a computer and a monitor on one. I would probebly suggest several of these. I would get one for the monitor as well as one for the computer. After the rebate come it you would also be well under your budget.

Heh, I have one of those, as well as its bigger brother rated at 500VA. Total cost for two locally was $100. My Barton 2500+ case w/ 350W PS goes into the 500VA UPS, and the Samsung 19" monitor and the external Firewire drive plug into the 350VA unit. I tested the 500VA unit with the computer plugged into it--got about 10 minutes worth of runtime. Haven't done the test with the monitor/Firewire drive yet.

Mind you, my main reason for getting them was to weather not-so-infrequent brownouts in our area and also to give me those few minutes to gracefully shutdown the computer in case of a power outage.
