Suggestions for CDRW?

Depends what price that you call that, try and go Plextor if you can, I would recommend the Plextor 8/4/32A or if you want to spend more, the 12/10/32A is good

if you can afford it I would go with a Plextor. 😎
Im running the 12/10/32 plextor right now and have no problems with it.
used a cheap Memorex 2/2/6 before that (currently in second machine)

I cannot recommend anything except plextor. I have dealt with HP, Sony, Yamaha, Ricoh, TEAC, S&F, Memorex, Imation, Mitsumi, Panasonic, and Plextor. Of those Plextor is the only one that never produced a coaster except for buffer underruns which are not the drives fault (except if they have too small of a cache... which is the purchasers fault for not being smarter). All the others produce write error and stuff.

Its 4AM and I am crashing, i can't type straight. Nighty night all.

I have an Asus 8X4X32 CD-RW and it is very good no errors so far and it is reasonably priced. I got mine for about $120 from Hong Kong. It is very very good, so if you just want to get a CD-RW for value for money and not for the BRAND name of the CD-RW then go Asus. But if your friend wants to go for brand name and does not mind the little extra then go Plextor. But the quality of the outcome between the two are about the same, no noticeable difference.

Hope your friend finds the right CD-RW,

Albert.
