The wife wants a simple MP3 player that she can take with her to the gym. I need something simple that is just going to work easily for her. Should I just get her a Ipod shuffle?

I hadn't heard much about the Sansa Clip so I googled it. There's a somewhat-biased-against-Apple-products("Apple just announced a price drop on the screenless iPod Suffle... you would think that your fascist leader [Steve Jobs] crapped another bar of gold") but still interesting article comparing the Shuffle to the Sansa Clip here: http://www.anythingbutipod.com...ip-vs-ipod-shuffle.php

In all seriousness, the 2 GB Sansa CLIP is a WINNER NO DOUBT. I purchased mine for $29 @ BestBuy last black Friday $29! what a deal, the features are amazing, and every time you use it you can't believe that all those features were made available on a player that size. Being able to use it on Linux and Windows was a big plus, having a full EQ was a big plus, battery life is a big plus, no special software just drag and drop and forget the lock in business. I have no need for a fancy shmancy MP3 player, I wanted something for me to carry here and there and to put in my car and plug in my AUX port. I have been using it (especially in my car) 1 year later and I am just pondering how much better a deal this is than any of the icrap out there, hell they are even releasing an 8GB version (although I hope for the version of it they beef the Clip's playlist software a bit just a tiny bit)!

And that thing is tough. I accidently left my 4gb version in my pants, it went through the washer and the dryer...Still works perfectly.
