If you want to decide on a new video card, you might want to provide us w/ some system specs. If your running something slower than a Xp1500+ or a 1.6ghz P4, you might want to consider getting a revamped system because a system like that w/ even a GF4 Ti 4600 wont run anything in the future really well. Heck, any card right now might not run games like Doom 3 all too well. But if your looking for the best Bang for buck regardless of your system, it'll probably be a Radeon 8500 128mb LE. You can find those things for <200 and they push out some pretty good performance.

If his last card was a Voodoo3, was it a PCI card? If his motherboard does not have an AGP slot,

your choices are quite limited. You can find PCI versions of some newer cards, but his operating system needs to support DirectX 8 for some of them to run right. If he still has Windows 95, than he already had the best card for his system. A TNT2 would also work.

Yes some spec's would have been nice.;)
