Hey all,

There is a new online store in the works. There are thousands of them out there selling all kinds of product for iPods, but we need something a little different.

Of course the main two points stay prices and service, but most stores (at least the ones we saw) are just simple "buy-here-give-us-money" places. Those of course are fine and everybody sometimes just wants to get in, get the product, check out and wait for delivery.

BUT! I personally think that there should be a sense of community along with the traditional vendor-customer relationship.

In any case, to make this sweet and short, what would you guys like to see in a store/site that would sell all kinds of accessories and iPods?

Yes, there will be Contests.
Yes, there will be Giveaways.
And yes, there will be pretty sweet deals.
What else?

Oh and when this whole thing gets running, people who came up with some cool ideas, that will be used, will get some freebies.

What do you guys think? And yes, if you think that this is dumb.. say so.

Thanks.

I have TONS of ideas. I eat, sleep, and LOVE my iPod. Seriously, no joke. Are you looking only for ideas for the community/site or for actual products as well?

There is lots of competition online, take a look at why you're able to, low barrier to enter the market. If you do it on a large scale it can work well though.

competition will be fierce, and that is if you attain conglomerate-status....

as a SMB it will be a living hell..margins will be non-existant

Navigation and organization (if you have competitve prices and a shipping rate that's not completely insane) is where the stores differ. You need a professional look to the site, but not overly so. And if you can figure out a navigation system that can actually WORK, you sir, are a god.

This is not about figuring out how the business will survive and what it takes to run a small business..
It's about finding out what people think most online stores lack.

There are no concerns as far as financing goes and the site will be well designed.

I'm simply looking for some suggestions as to how make small additions to the site in order to make it more interesting to people.

Thanks.
