Yeah, I've been using mIRC since the '90s. I know it has a stigma as being for n00bs and it's frequently targeted for attacks, but I rarely go on IRC and never bothered to find anything better. I'm actually a bit surprised when I find it still installed on a particular PC, usually WAY outside of the trial period. As far as Windows software, what do the regulars use?

FWIW, I use Colloquy on my iPhone, but I miss mIRC options, like logging my channels and such.

mIRC's ok, but using it after the trial period goes against the spirit of the offering. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but if there's an open source solution freely given, I prefer that choice. Pidgin's open source, and it works with other chat protocols also.

Exactly what has me searching. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out.

KVirc is another good option.

Thanks!
