Just picked up an MSI KT3 Ultra2/ XP1700+. BIOS reports my CPU as athlon 1100 Mhz, which I assume means I have an older BIOS that does not support Tbred. (mine is a Tbred A :( )

I've read all the instructions and warnings from the MSI Site. Not too worried, but thought to solicit some advice. I'm running XP Pro on NTFS, so I was thinking I would load the BIOS files to my FAT partition and then flash from DOS boot disk.

I would have thought that the KT333 would support TbredA from the get go. Is there something I'm missing?

Oh boy; if this was OT, the responses would be interesting! :D

The KT3 is a KT333 board, right? Try clearing your CMOS, then ensure that any jumpers, particularly a jumper that chooses b/t 100/133 and 1333/166 FSBs are correctly set.

Yeah, I thought it was probably something like that. I simply haven't had much time to look over it.

Oh man, just realized that 1100 * 1.33 = 1.47. Now I feel real stupid.

Never mind. Probably won't bother flashing, don't need TbredB support (yet)
