Suggestions about this Worm please

System stats: (XP Home)/zone alarm, I run several scanners over the course of each day 7 days a week/DSL connection, usually a clean system.

Last night during a scan with a-squared (free). It found the following:

Worm.Win32.Otwycal.c

Located in C:\Windows\explorer.exe

I deleted the file, and ran the scan again. It found it again. I deleted it again and ran the scan again......found it again, quarantined it, and ran the scan again....and again it came back.

This morning I booted into Safe Mode, ran the scan, and that is where I am now. I will resume this hunt when I get home.

I'm not finding much about this on the net. Anyone have any ideas...suggestions.....or even hear of this worm?

(sigh)

Thanks for your help.....

The A-Squared forums are showing it as a false positive. It looks like they fixed the issue earlier today with an update, so I'd try running the update and scan again. Keep in mind anything running Heuristics can make a false positive, and quarantining your explorer.exe file is a good way to destabilize your system.

Thanks Azaran.......I'll look that over. They must have posted since I looked early this morning and last night. Good to know. Yes, I will have to restore the file. It's almost a full time job keeping up with this stuff.

Thanks again -----
