Long time listener, first time poster to forum issues.

I suggest we REMOVE all religion from ATOT and perhaps have a seperate religion forum. I am tired of reading every other thread to have it crapped upon by some fanatic. I would like to see a discussion on hot issues be discussed without religion involved.

Thanks.

Examples?

This is cool, I just changed one word:
I suggest we REMOVE all Intel from ATOT and perhaps have a seperate Intel forum. I am tired of reading every other thread to have it crapped upon by some fanatic. I would like to see a discussion on hot issues be discussed without Intel involved.

Thanks.

I had thought about suggesting that they make "Politics and News" a "Politics, Religion, and News" forum but I doubt that will be happening. After all, there don't seem to be enough religion threads to warrant it.

Let me guess, you think the forums (and the world) would be a better place if all religion were obliterated? You think the world would finally be at peace if I (and all other religious people) were killed?

No just less annoying! Besides Off Topic was created primaritly due to Religious Topics being posted in General Hardware long before the Neffs and AOL Chatroom kiddies invaded Off Topic.

Wow, thats a heck of a stretch. So anybody who doesn't want to have read these religious threads on a technology centric forum system must want to kill everyone of any religion?

I've posted this before but I'll say it again - I think the way Ars Technica arranges their forums is very effective and covers everything well. They have:
The Lounge
Sit back, relax and vent yer geek angst. You must be a subscriber to post in this forum.

The Soap Box
Speak your mind on all things political, religious, & sociological. Be sure to check out the Soap Box FAQ. You must be a subscriber to post in this forum.

The Velvet Room
The Ars After Hours hangout for matters relating to that other geek pursuit, pimpin'. You must be a subscriber to post in this forum, and you must also be registered to view this forum.
Religion would go with Politics and News as suggested, and I don't think a relationship forum would be a bad idea here either, we have more YAGTs by the day. I also like the idea of some of these forums being read only for non-subscribers, this would address the complaints of those worried AT is spending resources on subjects outside its primary focus. I'd hang out at Ars, but I like Fusetalk a lot better and I'm already used to all the people in OT :)
