I need suggestions on a motherboard for my new computer. It needs to be AMD XP compatible. The system will be used for gaming/desktop apps and stability is very important. Won't be used for OCing either
No overclocking. Need stability. That's easy. Get yourself the $55 ECS K7S5A and be done with it. SiS 735 is solid as a rock and you'll save $50+ and avoid the endless issues surrounding VIA's core logic.

I would get the Shuttle AK35GT2-R board. Can be had for less than $99 and has 5.1 C-Media sound card, and Highpoint raid.
My board is stable and I have no problems with it. And the only problem with VIA is people are to lazy to try and fix any small problems they have. I have never had a issue with my VIA chipset boards expect that Creative does not make good Non-Intel drivers.
