Running a ATI RAGE FURY 128. Time to update to a new card..any suggestion of a card $200 and under? Mostly use for 3d gaming.

I think the Radeon 64DDR SE ViVo are at a sweet spot now, $155 at www.invado.com.They are partially DX8 compliant, have very good performance and awesome visuals. This would be my choice for under $200 and was! The SE has 5ns memory and default clocks at 200/400. Happy shopping!

143 MSI GF2 Pro (great framerates raw Power , lacks in 2d tho)

110 Kyro 2 (great 2d and image quality i've heard, and FSAA is awesome)

70 Radeon LE can be tweaked to perform like a Radeon 64 MB DDR awesome
image quality and best DVD playback

stick to one of those and you will be happy

id recommend a geforce2 pro. they go for around $150 i believe in newegg.com. they'll run all of your mentioned games very nicely. Or if you dont wanna spend that much, go for a geforce2 gts or radeon le.

I second the Radeon 64meg.
Better 2d quality and kicks the geforce in 32bit color (no one uses 16 bit anymore)

where exactly does it kick the geforce2 in 32 bit? would you mind showing me these benchmarks? And as for the 2d, ATI does have better 2d, but as to what extent, it matters which Nvidia card you buy. I recall hearing that Elsa had the best 2d quality and was almost on par with ATI

Another vote for Radeon LE. You can tweak it to be just like a regular Radeon 32mb DDR video card.

Radeon DDR LE. It's only $77 @newegg now. I have had this card for a month or two, and I love it. It was a HUGE increase from my voodoo3 2000, and will also give you a fairly large boost.

while a Radeon LE will suffice for the games you will be playing, if you want more lasting power in the future plus blistering performance as of now, then I suggest you pick up a Geforce2 pro. remember people, his budget is under $200, not under $100

Either the Radeon LE or a GF2 Pro IMHO.
The Radeon LE is very cheap and can be hacked to easily perform equal to a 32MB DDR Radeon.

The GF2 Pro is more expensive, and has worse 2D quality, but it's n extremely fast card all around. It'd probably be the better choice if you have the extra money to psend on it.
