I think i am going to drop my CS125 (java) course...but its already past the deadline...however i can still drop it and receive a grade of "W" (withdrawal) on the trasnscript. do you guys think it the grade of "W" would affect me that much?

At my university, it doesn't get counted into the CGPA (course grade point average). But you realize you still wind paying for it, eh?

Why don't you just ask? Not that hard...

Depends on your school, but normally it'll count as an F in your GPA.

Nowhere I've heard of counts it as an F. That's the point of dropping it -- so you won't get an F. But don't make a habit of it. 1 is understandable, but if you have many it really starts to say something about you.

I have 1 W on my transcript and I'm not a homeless bum.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It only matters after college if it will alter your GPA (see the GPA thread).

In college it might matter if you're looking for an internship in development / testing / QA, but as long as you can explain why you dropped it I wouldn't worry.
