Hello,

I am trying to build a home entertainment system out of a DELL 2.4 ghz that I got on sale a few months back. I would like the system to be able to import video via a RCA connection or S-Video connection. I do not need a TV tuner as I have a satellite system at home and thus the tuner in the card would be useless. I also want to be able to import from my non-digital camcorder and burn the video onto a CDR.

The computer came with a very basic video card that does not have any video inputs or outputs. In my haste, I purchased a Ledatek Winfast 2000 video capture card thinking this would solve all my problems. I am not sure if that is my best option now as I realize I should have upgraded the video card in the computer too. Luckily I have not opened the Leadtek so I can probably sell it on E-Bay and get back most of my money if that is the way I decide to go. I would also like to be able to play some games on this computer so the basic video card will probably not cut it. I do not need a top of the line graphics card as I will not be playing the latest games. I am not a gamer but would like to try some if I ever have some free time.

Here is my question, should I use the Leadtek and the basic video card in the computer or upgrade to an all in one unit? I have seen video cards that have VIVO (Video in/Video out) capabilities. Would one of those work? I have checked out Newegg and their video cards with VIVO are not too badly priced.

Lastly, I am trying to do this on a budget. I was hoping that I could only spend $100 to $125. Any suggestions anyone could make would be appreciated.

Thanks.
