Suggestion for TT Big Typhoon in Antec P180

Okay my E6400 with a Big Typhoon idles at 43-44 celcius with the case open, but idles at about 53-54 celcius with the case closed. I guess it's because the BT is not a front to back sorta cooler, rather a top to bottom and the top of the cooler is very close to the side panel so it's a bit difficult to get good airflow in that direction.

My rear and top fans are blowing out. I did have the rear fan blowing in and it reduced temps a couple of degrees but then my vid card started getting hotter so I scratched that idea. With the case open my vid card idles at 55C and at 58C with the case closed, and the fans blowing out. Oh and the front-middle fan is blowing in.

Anyone have any suggestions for reducing the temperatures short of cutting the case, which I don't want to do??

You really can't. I stated this before but the P180 stifles alot of air except what the fans push in or out. It insulates your system alot.

I wonder if it would make a difference if it was pulling air up instead of pushing it down. I'll try it later.

Chances are, that will make it worse. Of course, the only way to find out is to try it. The best thing to do, if you have that heatsink, is to cut a hole directly above it's fan.

Hot air rises... so if you can try to get a case flow from bottom to top, it would likely help.

You could try a medium/small fan set at bottom of case angled a little to blow air at the space between the TTBT and the side case panel. I cut a blowhole for my TTBT in the side of a cheapie case and used some tape to create a "horn" to "connect" the hole in case to the fan on the TTBT and it worked great. (But of course then you've ruined a case- which your looking to avoid).
