suggestion for sale/trade section

Hi All I'm new around here, and my experience in only my first hour has been great. The mods were very nice to me in making sure I turned on my e-mail address and promtly unlocked my thread in the for sale/trade section. And that says a lot.

What I was shocked about when coming here was how insanely huge your for sale/trade section is. Why is it not a good idea to split that into subforums? It would be easier to find things, and items would get more visibility. I understand this has probably been suggested, so what are the reasons you don't have sub-sections?

okay, so what if there was just a main page at anandtech called "forum" and everyone posted whatever they want in it. no one could find anything. that is how i feel in the sale/trade section 😉

hehe, it's easy to believe it has been mentioned before. Why won't it be happening? would it just be too much work?

Subforums would be great, but in reality it just means a bigger headache for the Mods. In FS/T you would have Mobos, CPUs, laptops, etc. and the Mods would have to check that each and every one is in the correct subforum.

I think a cool implementation would be having a main forum like it is now, and a subforum that acts like a filter. When you click on FS/T you would get every thread posted to every subforum, but when you clicked Mobos you would only get the threads that have been posted to that subforum.

That solution would never work in OT or P&N because it would be badly abused.

(accidental post) I clicked the bottom "reply" button thinking it would open a reply box. But since i typed nothing in Quick Reply it didn't post anything. oops

oh, I just noticed you don't have any sub-forums at all. yeah no way will it happen. *sigh* oh well, the search feature will have to do 😉

veryhumid,

Welcome to the AT forums 🙂

If you have Heat or eBay feedback you may want to list that in your signature 🙂

Cheers,
