I was a bit surprised when I looked at recent reviews for 2 TB drives (nearly all of them are somewhat negative esp for longevity). I'm looking for a drive (it can be slow) for storing a large amount of multi-media data.
I did not check reviews across all drives but mostly the 'green' drives from wd, hatachi and seagate (samsung drives seem a bit scarce; though the few places iwth f4 had generally negative comments).
-
My primary concern is long term reliability (the data can be recovered; but the purpose of the purchase is to save time/effort so what's the point in spending $100 or $150 if I will have to turn around in 8 months and do it again).
