Hey guys. I am looking for two 92mm fans for my new Fong Kai 320 case. One is for the rear exhaust and one is for the HDD bay cooling. I have a Panaflo 120mm on the bottom of the case for intake as well.

I was looking at 2CoolTek.com and found this fan to be quite nice. However, how loud will 36dBA be compared to the 30dBA Indigo Orb and the 30dBA Panaflo 120mm? I don't want my computer to scream, but are these fans giong to annoy me? They have great CFM and seem to have quite high quality, which is what I'm in search for.

Thanks!

Here's a 24db 31cfm fan in case you need a quieter one.. check here.. SuperRed or something but it's a nice silent 92mm case fan..

And uh the 36db fan will be more than twice as loud as the 30db fans.. because sound doubles in intensity every 4 decibals..

I thought it was every 10dBA. Anyhoo, what fan from 2cooltek would be the one I'd want to keep my dBA within reason? I'd like to get those Panaflo 92mm 4pin because they're not too loud, but they're out of stock. :(

Thanks!

36db is going to sound about 50-60% louder than 30db to the human ear.

The Indigo Orb isn't really 30db like your 30db panaflo 120mm. Try em one at a time and you'll hear the difference, the Indigo Orb is definitely louder (I have both of those two).

Is 36dBA going to cause annoyance? I had a system with the Antec SX1030 that had 4 Antec 80mm fans, which I believe were 30dBA each. How would the Orb, Panaflo, and two Sanyos compare? I know it's not going to be as loud as my 7K Delta, but is it going to be comparable?

Someone posted a link here in Anandtech that goes to a lab. Maybe I can hear them then. (A 30dBA vs 36dBA)

Anyone know of this link?

Thanks!

CaseETC has tailed 92mm Panaflows (M1A & L1A) in stock(tailed fans). I have ordered many times from them in the past and always received great service. You will be able to detect a fan running at 36dbA, but since the 'loudness' is based on pereption, you may not be bothered by it. The Panaflows are more of a lower freq. rushing noise instead of a high pitched whine.
