i dunno if spanky has different motives, but mine are that you can't always find the batteries you want in stores. like i've never seen maha's for sale in stores here.

i just need the aaa batteries. i've had a charger and some aa batteries from ebay a few years back. i would like to avoid ebay if possible and as for budget... how does under $10 for 4 sound like a fair price?

4 AAA's for under $10? Good luck.

I know you want to avoid eBay but I would consider buying from ptron1 (SunnBattery.com) which sells quality, high capacity rechargeable NiMH batteries for a reasonable price. Thomas Distributing is also a great place to buy from.

You could buy 8 AAA Nexcell 650 mAH's for $10 (or $12 BIN) plus shipping. I know it's over your budget but Nexcell makes some awesome batteries.

Pay a little more and get the new 700 mAH's, you won't have to replace these for a very long time.

pillage2001 - Nope, I'm still not sure if I'm going to be keeping the camera. $280 for a 2.1 MP is kinda spendy and it's TINY. If I do keep it I'll prob buy one from battery barn or from eBay.
