Hey Guys,

Currently I have the Nvidia 7300GS, and Im not quite sure what video card to get. I dont really game and mostly use my system for apps like Lightroom and Photoshop. However, I am planning to get the Dell 24" LCD shortly and was wondering if the 7300GS is sufficient to run it? My current rig consists of:

Vista Ultimate 32bit
Gigabyte P35-ds3r
Intel e2140
Crucial 2x1 PC6400
Seagate 320gb 7200.10

Try it first, if the aero stuff runs crappy, and you think of aero as a must have, ask again :p Photoshop is CPU intensive afaik, don't know lightroom. I'm pretty sure a 7600gt 256mb will suite your needs just fine, as long as 'lightroom' isn't a gpu intensive application.

Worth looking into might be the hd2400 or 2600 series for videoplayback and HD stuff. Really don't know a lot about that though, so if interested ask someone else :p

What wattage PSU do you have? You may have to upgrade it when you decide what video card you get.

I have the Corsair 520w PSU.

As you already have the 7300GS, there is no risk in trying it first with the 24-inch monitor. I think it will be allright for your needs, as they are 2D not 3D. If you have to upgrade, you could go with an Nvidia midrange 8600GT, as NVidia has better scaling options, always useful with a widescreen monitor, even if the 2407 has bult-in scaling.

But try the 7300GS first. It will probably be enough.
