oh my my Promedias are still great, except the Sub has a wired vibration sound under certain bass.
I actually bought these Ultras for $100 about 2 years agoThey were brand new. The owners didn't quite know the value of them, but I guess in retrospect, I was the one who was ripped off.

^, I have had mine since 05 :O
FYI... One of the reasons why this thing warms up like it does is because it draws 36W of power at idle (turned on - no audio playing). Imagine running a 40W light bulb inside an insulated box. So if you want to save yourself some coin, turn the amp off when you are not using it.
You've already got drivers and an enclosure for a sub, why not just replace the amp with one of these?

It might save you $50 and you'll have the same sound from the sub that you're used to.
I've had my promedia ultra 5.1s for SEVEN YEARS and they've been ON nearly the entire time I have owned them and I have had ZERO amp issues.
These things are unbeatable by any pc speaker offering. I paid 700 cad for them at the time at the now-defunct compuserve.
Just absolutely unreal. Obviously I'm fortunate not to have the subwoofer amp issue, but Im telling you nothing beats these things if you were lucky to get an iron clad set like myself.
