i am looking for a suggested replacement for a7n8x deluxe board. now i previous to today loved this board. i have 2 of them. but the bios seems to have corrupted it self. after searching it seems this happens often when trying to adjust cpu/fsb settings. so now i am looking for a similar board features but maybe not have this bios corruption problem. i have a barton 2500, corsair twinx tested ram 256x2, gf4 4200. so nothing special. i guess onboard sound is optional as i have an audigy that i don't use. and a sblive i don't use. other req is that is must allow me to run at 10x200 with this proc.

You might consider the Shuttle AN35N Ultra. It uses the dual-channel northbridge but the "basic" MCP southbridge. That means that you give up:

  • the dual-NIC feature (it has one network jack instead of two)
  • the Firewire capability
  • the onboard nVidia audio processors (it still has onboard audio but not the powerful APU to drive it, the CPU has to do more work when using the onboard audio here)
I have one and it was doing a nice job OC'ing my 1800+ to 9.0 x 210 with Corsiar PC3200 (I think it had more headroom, but I didn't see the need to push it). Now my A7N8X Deluxe has taken its place in my home system with a 2500+ at 10.0 x 210, and the Shuttle has gone to my workplace to do other stuff.

Anyway, at $68 they are not a bad buy if they have what you need. Hope that helps :)

You have 2 of them, use 1 to hotflash the other and keep them both:beer: I did it with mine awhile back when I had a flash go bad. It worked well and haven't had to do it again. Get a chip puller, and after you practice a couple times, it goes easy.

I went from an A7N8X Deluxe to an Abit NF7-S and haven't regretted it. The onboard sound is clearer, and the Abit has been completely hassle-free for me.
