Just finished the Fountainhead and the Kite Runner, both really good books. I would suggest the Kite Runner as a quick book to go through, very provocative. Now im looking for another book to read. something good and preferably not too length (fountainhead took me a semester of off and on reading)

Kitchen Confidential was apretty entertaining book, but if you're seeking knowledge you won't find much there.

i bet you have already read this book, but if you haven't, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance is a very good book. it's a book that requires thought, yet what it says cannot be ignored. it is a philosophy book, but it is one of the best books i ever read.

big fan of kitchen confidential. Bringing down the house is another quick read.

more "educational" books would be The tipping point, or money ball.

There are far too many excellent books to list here, but I'm currently reading On Writing by Stephen King. It's part autobiography and part aobut dealing with the writing process. It's very well written and quite entertaining.

Just finished those two books as well, both really great. Freakonomics is a pretty short but interesting read. I didn't really care much for The Tipping Point, but alot of people seem to like it so just throwing it out there.

I guess book that are thought provoking. Doesn't necessarily have to be nonfiction but I dont raelly want to read mindless thrillers either.

Try 'The Glass Palace' by Amitov Ghosh if you have not read it; absolutely fantastic IMO.

A couple by George R.R. Martin come time mind, The Game of Thrones series sounds like it's too long for your liking, but it's worth checking out "Fevre Dream" and "Tuf Voyaging". His short story collections are pretty good too.
Any short story collections by Alfred Bester
