Suggest to me a case...

I've got a TT Armor case, its big, heavy, bulky, and looks perfect for a 16 year olds bedroom...which is why I got it 4 years ago. Since then my life has changed, obviously, and I need something different.

What I want:
Something good looking, sleek, I have a very simply design in my room so something that matches that (nothing big, flashy, etc, I don't have time for that)

Something that performs well.

Something built well. I want this case to not only last but stand up to being worked in.

Basically whatever the best all around case is, without anything flashy. I don't need a side panel cut out, or 50 billion fans that light up and tell me what time it is, I just want a case that works well and can be worked in. I plan on upgrading over time, currently I have a PC from 4 years ago (E6600, 8800GTS), so I want it to be easy to open up, take stuff out, put new stuff in, you know.

Budget: I don't really have one, I want to know what I need to spend and I'll save for it or compromise then.

TL;DR
Need new case.
Well built, easy to work in.
No budget, just give me ideas.

Thanks 😀

no budget? i like my ac77 lianli im older than 16 and i like blue led and windows, but i do own a lianli ac77 full tower with no window or led. Love the case huge nice airflow and very nice finish on it, if i was you and hated the led and all id just put a diff side on the case and drill out the led or put diff fans. the TT armor is a decent case, i have one sitting in my garage with teh giant 240mm fan on the side case

lets you mount psu on top or bottom, two rear 120/3 front 120mm i love it. im sure there are many diff cases people might recommend, like the corsair 800D!!!!!!!!! im sure id buy that if i spent 300$ on a case ( i got my lianli on sale with half inch small scratch)

I'll recommend some instead:

Full size - Corsair 800D
Open - Banchetto 101
SFF - Look at some Silverstones

Sundial Micro Usually has better prices on Lian Li cases than New Egg

The ABS Black Pearl is a great case also.

The 800D is a great case also and if you have any problems just email their RMA service and parts will be at your door in 5 working days or less! I speak from my own experience. Joseph Ocbina was very helpful to me.

I also own a Lian Li PC-A20 silver

I love cases!

I LOVE that Corsair 800D. I'm a bit iffy spending that much though, if I don't see anything else I like as much for a lower price (sub $200) I might just have to wait for my next quarter bonus to buy it.

silence/baffling, engineered for quiet instead of looks. all panels give a nice dull thud, even expensive fashion cases ring like a bell, rarely are cases built with thick enough metal not to.

Another one to look at if you're air cooling that's very nice looking in an understated way is the SilverStone FT02. It's quiet, solidly built, meets your looks requirement, keeps the dust out very well, and keeps your components cool. Biggest drawback is the price -- $229.

Can't go wrong with most Lian Li cases for something that is well built without looking like a teenager computer.

Brown vs The board of education

Or any Silverstone. My tj09 is 5 years old and still looks fantastic. Got it the day they came to the US.

Check out the 700D. Same case basically minus the hot swap drive bay and side window. Plus, it's a little cheaper.

Otherwise, check out Lian Li. Definitely the king of well built, understated cases.

I am going to pick up a 700D soon, probably this weekend or next week. I was really liking the 800D, but the 700D is the same except for a few small things I don't need. The hot swap bays offer no appeal towards me and the window being gone is a plus.

Or the Silverstone FT02? Great cooling, really quiet, very classy looking and still has plenty of room for components unless you want a Radeon 5970 or something.

The backplanes on the Hot-swap bays really cause issues. It might not be worth it for the 800D. I actually took mine out. I am just using the bays but I am running the cables directly to the drive(s) without a back-plane (uninstalled back-plane)

Go for the 700D

Silverstone FT02 for sure. Hands down. Probably the best air-cooled case on the market, extremely well built, super easy cable management, and looks clean and classy.

Just put a system in one yesterday and it was amazing.

Problems with the P180 and 800D is poor airflow (comparatively), they're extremely nice cases but built for watercooling.

ABS Black Pearl (got it when Newegg had it on sale for around $80). So far the case has worked out for me (and I used to play games with it). Granted the graphics card got a little hot sometimes, but in the end, the case has worked out.

The LEDs can be a little bright in a dark room, but I've resorted to "paint" over the LEDs, to cut down on the light.

if you want something classy, get a P183 or P19x series. They tuck away nicely and won't draw attention yet look very polished.
